Embroidered Shirt: Traditions Are Back In Fashion

We all know that an embroidered shirt or vyshyvanka is not just a linen or cotton shirt with traditional embroidery. Embroidery is also a charm, where each element and colors have its meaning. Ukrainian women created unique amulet shirts for their husbands and children by combining ornaments and colors.

Since the declaration of independence, Ukrainian embroidery gradually regained the respect lost during the Soviet Union. Today, vyshyvanka is a uniform in some Ukrainian schools and a national dress worn on Independence Day and other holidays. Even on the streets, you can meet men and women dressed in embroidered clothes.

Now, when the country is at war, the patriotic spirit of the Ukrainian people is stronger than ever. The embroidery is one of the symbols of unconquered Ukraine. Now you can see vyshyvanka not only in the country-origin but also in many other countries that actively support Ukraine under challenging times. Many fashion houses use ethnic embroidery when creating new collections of fashion clothes.

Modern Men's Embroidery

If earlier embroidery was made exclusively of linen, natural or bleached, now people use many more fabrics, and you can choose the shirt that meets your preferences. What embroidered shirts do men wear?

1.     Classical shirt has a straight cut, made of white or natural linen, cotton, and other organic fabrics with colored embroidery on the collar, chest, sleeves, or cuffs. It is combined with jeans, linen pants, and strict suits.

2.     Blue and light blue shirts are suitable for a casual look. White, black, and yellow embroidering and all shades of blue are trendy, as well as classic combinations with red color. Such a shirt looks fantastic with jeans, but you can also wear it with other types of pants.

3.     Official-style shirt. Such an item can have a traditional embroidery shirt cut or more classical. When the embroidery color matches the fabric’s color, a model is ideally combined with a strict suit. But you can also connect a classic white embroidered shirt with a lawsuit. Try a black silk shirt with matching embroidery in combination with black trousers.

4.     Embroidered t-shirt is a budget option with machine embroidery. Nevertheless, it is pretty popular, especially among young people. Such embroidery will be combined with jeans, joggers, or cargo pants, especially in black, blue, or green.

Embroidery in the military style is another variety that appeared when the war started. Ukrainian brand M-Tac presented a khaki t-shirt with a military pattern with cross embroidery. It is an incredibly stylish and patriotic item that will appeal to both military and civilians.

How To Wear

Combine white and colored embroidery with jeans of any cut. Everything will depend on the color of the jeans. Wear it loose without a belt or tucked in.

Combine with classic suit trousers. Wear white shirts with colored ornament or tone-on-tone models tucked in.

Combine with summer pants, classic cut long shorts, and capri pants. Choose a short-sleeved linen embroidered shirt and a T-shirt.

The choice of shoes depends on the trousers. Choose classic strict shoes with a suit, moccasins, loafers, and even sneakers for all other options.

If you are a patriot, but the embroidery is still a little unusual for you, pay attention to the stylish classic Pierre Cardin polo shirts from the Air Touch collection in yellow and blue - the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
